Researching and understanding the unknowns ensures that people are familiar with the tasks which in turn helps these individuals to lower their fears, anxiety, and losses associated with misinformation. This is because the preparation process equips people with the substantial knowledge on the possible courses of actions in case of the emergencies and unexpected outcomes since it involves thinking about the alternative answers by playing out the “what ifs” and the perhaps designing contingency plans. For instance, public speakers understand of what they are expected whenever they prepare for the presentations. This is because prepared individuals put the right measures in place prior to the initial presentation thus finding it easier to start and accomplish the project with a higher proficiency and accuracy.
