Scenes from the house where the water flows and falls plaster are somewhat similar to the final scene of Solaris, where rain also goes straight from the ceiling of the room. Hopelessness transmitted it (nowhere to hide), an excellent complement to the despair of the heroine and her feeling shattered lives. And with what love Tarkovsky depicts nature! The fields in the "Stalker", the algae in the "Solaris", and here ... the bushes!
