According to Drew Davison, the project management methodology can be considered as a set of standards to manage and initiate project team with the domain of individual projects. In the concept of project management, the project methodology can be considered a most essential factor, which involve all the necessary details of project it is incorporated into. According to the author, the process of the project management methodology can be considered to playing a dominating role in the mind of the project manager. One of the major role the author plays in the scenario of the project methodology is the involvement of the different techniques, which can be applied, was stated by the author taking into consideration the two factors for example time and budget. Most the aspects, which should be covered by the project management, are stated in the concept of the project methodology (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017).

According to Brad Egeland, the project management methodology is a model, which is designed by the project managers for achieving the concept of planning, its implementation and achievement of the objectives of the project. The main aspects, which should be taken into consideration about the project management, are the constants of budget and time framework. Most of the time projects fails due to mismanagement in the concepts. If both the factors were taken into consideration, the project would be more or less achieving the standard it is intended to reach. Time and cost factor according to the author are very much interrelated if one of the factors are affected it would automatically affect the other issues.

According to Robert Galen, project methodology can be considered as an area where the overall processing of the project is done. Taking into consideration all the factors of time, budget and labor factors. Robert Galen can be considered as one of the authors who stated that the project management can be considered to be one of the areas were the project fate is decided. The overall working of the project is dependent on the concept of the assumptions, which are made, and the necessary sector of adjustments it is made upon (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017).

The project management medhodology, which is selected, is the waterfall model. The concept, which can be applied to the PMBOK, can be considered as just another side of the waterfall model. The aspect of PMBOK is a guide, which is essentially a manual of best practices relating to the concept of project management. The guide mainly consist of 42 processes that majorly fall under the categories such as planning, initiation, monitoring, execution, controlling and closing of the project. Additionally it can stated that it categories also fall under the “knowledge areas”. The main difference, which can be stated between the concept of PMBOK and Waterfall, is that PMBOK is a manual, which is categorized relating to best practices for the project management; waterfall is a methodology for development and design for the purpose of process of software development (Backlund, Chron?er & Sundqvist, 2014).

It can be stated here that the PMBOK practice are not unrelated to the waterfall model. It is a guide, which covers many important aspects of achieving a desired standard for project managers in the concept of the waterfall environment. Many of the researchers have stated that the PMBOK lends directly to the methodology relating to the waterfall but they are not inextricably together tied. More coming towards the point PMBOK are not exclusively useful towards the practitioners of the waterfall model.

The traditional software development is often described as a waterfall model. This is due to the factor that it is sequential in nature. The model follows a basic step, which is sequential in manner. When this type of model is implemented, there is no need to repeat any of the steps. The concept of the waterfall can be directly be related to the project life cycle (PLC) in a way that it is very much it follows a specific pattern in which one task is followed by another task. In major cases, it is seen that the task, which is completed, is not repeated the main processes, which are involved into the concept, are project initiation, project planning, project execution and project closure. The stages, which are stated, can be altered according to the requirement of the project and implemented accordingly. The project life cycle can be considered as a standard process by which the team relating to the development of the project can engage into the concept and achieve success. In the context of the waterfall model as well as the project life cycle, the role of the project manager is very much important. The process, which is related to the aspect, can work for some of the project manager but sometimes the service which is professional has to be robust (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). In most of the cases, the aspect relating to professional service the product is their customer. This aspect is seen in the waterfall model as it puts emphasis on the concept of the services to the customer and takes into consideration that the overall process of implementation is carried out in a systematic manner.
